The word Sadhu refers to hindus who have chosen to live a life apart from, or on the edges of society in order to focus on their spiritual practices. The sadhu is solely dedicated to achieving liberation, the fourth and final stage of life, through meditation and contemplation.
This is a portrait collection from some of these sadhus living in Pashupatinath Temple located on the banks of the Bagmati River, approximately 5 km north-east of Kathmandu.
